Our previous, and upcoming, visit from Drupon Khen Rinpoche Karma Lhabu - Album May 2025

In May 2025 Drupon Khen Rinpoche Karma Lhabu once again accepted the invitation to teach at some of our centres, here in Scotland and the rest of the UK.

Rinpoche is based in Thrangu Sekhar Retreat Center, in the hills forming the eastern rim of the Kathmandu Valley, just below a cave where the revered Tibetan yogi, Milarepa, practised.

He visited Kagyu Samye Dzong Glasgow, at our original Ashley Street centre, and offered a teaching on ‘The Measure of Authentic Practice’ before travelling to Samye Ling Monastery for the fifth UK Kagyu Monlam from May 30 to June 5, where he gave two Dharma teachings each day.

Rinpoche once again returned to the UK in August and visited Kagyu Samye Dzong Edinburgh and then onwards to Samye Ling for a weeklong retreat where the topic was, a chapter from Gampopa’s the ‘Precious Ornament of Liberation,’ an important text of the Kagyu lineage. Lord Gampopa (1079-1153), also called Dakpo Lhaje, meaning the doctor from Dakpo, was born in Nyal, in eastern Tibet and was the disciple of Milarepa.

This has been a wonderful opportunity to listen to Buddhist teachings from such a great master, and we are very grateful to Drupon Rinpoche, who will be teaching on the subject of ‘Valuing every opportunity for Dharma,’ for the first time at our new centre, Lochside House in Lochwinnoch from 6pm to 8pm on Monday 18th May 2026.

Booking is essential – please email Sherri: lochsidehouse@ksdglasgow.org.uk
